Wanderlust: 5 Places To Go + Books To Read

“I'm in love with cities I've never been to and people I've never met. ”

Melody Truong

All I ever want to do in life is to travel the world, read the kind of books that enchant my heart & soul and create something amazing every once in a while. While I haven't had the opportunity to see the world yet, as a reader I have had many an adventure in beautiful and sometimes, strange places. My to-travel list is filled with so many gorgeous places to see and wonderful cultures to experience.

Today I've picked 5 destinations I want to visit and paired them with to-read books that are set in these great places.
#01: England: A Great and Terrible Beauty - Libba Bray

To see:
Oxford, heaven to Harry Potter enthusiasts seems to be filled with awe-inspiring architecture. There is nothing more I'd love to do than walk along the same charming cobblestone streets walked by legendary authors and great poets.
I'd love to see Cambridge, Hever Castle, Chinatown, the Big Ben, The Globe, Durham Castle, York Minster, Westminster Abbey, The British Museum, Warwick Castle, Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum, Stonehenge, Windsor Castle, Natural History Museum and Jurassic Coast.

A crisp winter morning in New York. In a luxury apartment, the body of a woman lies stretched out on a huge bed. On the wall above, the killer has left a message in bold black ink: FOR LIEUTENANT EVE DALLAS, WITH GREAT ADMIRATION AND UNDERSTANDING.

Eve Dallas is used to unwanted attention. Famous for her high-profile cases and her marriage to billionaire businessman Roarke, she has learned to deal with intense public scrutiny and media gossip. But now Eve has become the object of a singular and deadly obsession. She has an 'admirer', who just can't stop thinking about her. Who is convinced they have a special bond. Who is planning to kill for her - again and again...

With time against her, Eve is forced to play a delicate - and dangerous - psychological dance. Because the killer is desperate for something Eve can never provide - approval. And once that becomes clear, Eve knows her own life will be at risk - along with those she cares about the most.

David Baldacci thought Obssesion in Death was a 'gut-searing emotional drama'. Stephen King seems to be a die hard Eve Dallas fan because he thinks Dallas is '....tough as nails and still sexy as hell'.

I wouldn't be lying if I said that Obsession in Death is one of the best murder mysteries that I've read in a long time.

Pinterest For The Visual Lover In You

List of Pinterest Accounts For Design Lovers Enthusiasts

Confession: I am an unapologetic Pinterest addict.

I easily spend more than five hours on Pinterest every week. For a social network that has very little conversation and actual engagement between readers, Pinterest is highly popular. It is perhaps the lack of chatter that actually attracts a huge number of users. Compared to Twitter and Facebook, Pinterest is super quiet and requires very little community participation. There is hardly any doubt that visuals are a better story telling tool so Pinterest is highly effective in its simplicity.

My favorite thing about Pinterest is that it allows me to collate all my interests on one site and at the same time makes it super easy to filter the content I want.

For my fellow Pinterest addicts I have curated a list of must-follow Pinterest accounts for the visual lover in you. Most of these Pinners are focused on design but they do share some pretty amazing interest-focused boards ranging from lifestyle, food, DIY to beauty, branding and travel.

I remembered my name – Mara. But, standing in that ghostly place, faced with the solemn young man in the black coat with silver skulls for buttons, I could recall nothing else about myself.

And then the games began.

The Messenger sees the darkness in young hearts, and the damage it inflicts upon the world. If they go unpunished, he offers the wicked a game. Win, and they can go free. Lose, and they will live out their greatest fear.

But what does any of this have to do with Mara? She is about to find out . . .

#01 - Great concept not so great execution.

Currently: Chapter 1 of 12

I wish I could say that January was blur. Of course, there were some good days but like all good things those days seem to have rushed past me. And there were a lot of not so good days so I'm definitely glad to say goodbye to January. So here I am saying a big hello to February!

Currently I am...

READING  Damsel Distressed. Don't let that cutesy cover fool you because Kelsey Macke pulls all the stops in this emotional debut. I have also been listening to some of the soundtracks for this novel and I've got to say Wedding Day Rain's Breathe Easy is my favorite! Many thanks to Hazel for introducing me to my new favorite fairy tale retelling.

WATCHING The 100. I might be a little obsessed with this show but man, the leading ladies are kicking ass! And I can hardly complaint about Bellamy Blake, can I? This show also wins because #Bellarke - The mother of all OTPs.
